• Healing with Heart Psychotherapy and Wellness was born from a shared vision between two sisters. Growing up together, we learned early on the importance of support, connection, and the strength found in family bonds. We saw a need for a therapy practice that felt less like a clinical appointment and more like a human connection.

We decided to combine our backgrounds to create a virtual space where adults in Ontario could feel truly at home while doing the work of personal growth. Our relationship as sisters is the foundation of our collaborative approach. This allows us to bring a unique level of understanding and synchronicity to the care we provide.

  • Everything we do is guided by a set of core principles that ensure you feel safe and respected throughout your journey.

    • Compassion First: We meet you exactly where you are with kindness and an open mind.

    • Safety and Trust: Your emotional safety is our priority. We foster an environment where you can be your authentic self without judgment.

    • Human Connection: We believe the best work happens when the relationship is grounded, honest, and collaborative.

    • Growth and Resilience: We focus on your capacity to move forward. We provide the tools to help you navigate life with more ease.

  • We move away from a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we draw from various methods to tailor support to your specific needs. Our goal is to make therapy understandable and practical.

    • Collaborative Care: We work with you as a team. You are the leader of your life and we are here to offer the insights and strategies to help you reach your goals.

    • Trauma-Informed Perspective: We understand that your past experiences shape your present. We provide care that is sensitive to your history and focused on your current well-being.

    • Virtual Accessibility: By offering sessions online across Ontario, we remove the barriers of travel and waiting rooms. This allows you to prioritize your health from a space where you already feel secure.

    • Plain Language Practice: We avoid clinical jargon. We explain our methods in ways that make sense for your daily life.

About Our Services

Our Approach

Psychotherapy and Wellness

At Healing with Heart Psychotherapy and Wellness, we believe that therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative partnership. We move away from a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we draw from various evidence-informed methods to tailor support to your specific needs. Our goal is to make the process understandable, practical, and deeply human.

Meeting You Where You Are

We recognize that reaching out for support takes immense courage and shows your inner strength. Whether you are a student navigating a new transition, a professional facing burnout, or a couple looking to improve communication, we meet you exactly where you are in your journey. We honor your lived experiences and appreciate the unique intersection of factors that make you who you are.

Our Collaborative Framework

We work with you as a team. You are the leader of your life, and we are here to offer the insights and strategies to help you reach your goals. Our relationship is built on a foundation of trust, respect, and a non-judgmental atmosphere. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions without fear of criticism.

How We Work

We integrate several evidence-based approaches into our practice. We explain these methods in plain language so you always understand the purpose behind our work together.

  • Building Resilience and Awareness: We incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion practices. These tools help you stay grounded in the present moment and foster a kinder relationship with yourself.

  • Managing Emotions and Thoughts: By drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), we help you understand the connection between your thoughts and feelings. We provide concrete skills to help you regulate intense emotions and change patterns that no longer serve you.

  • Understanding Your Story: Using Narrative Therapy, we look at the stories you tell about your life. We help you reframe these narratives to find your own empowerment and strength.

  • Forward-Focused Strategies: Through Solution-Focused and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), we help you navigate life transitions and responsibilities. We focus on your values so you can move toward a more meaningful and thriving life.

  • Strengthening Connections: For couples and families, we use proven methods like the Gottman Method. We help you improve communication and learn how to navigate conflict with respect and understanding.

Our Commitment to Your Well-Being

A Trauma-Informed Perspective We understand that your past experiences shape your present. We provide care that is sensitive to your history. We focus on your current well-being through an anti-oppressive lens, ensuring that our space is safe for everyone.

Virtual Accessibility By offering secure sessions online across Ontario, we remove the barriers of travel and waiting rooms. This allows you to prioritize your mental health from a space where you already feel secure and comfortable.

Plain Language Practice We avoid clinical jargon. We want you to feel empowered by the therapeutic process, not confused by it. We explain our methods in ways that make sense for your daily life and your unique goals.
